2(1)Titanium

Titanium, chemical symbol Ti, atomic number 22, is a metal element belonging to the IVB group on the periodic table. The melting point of titanium is 1660℃, the boiling point is 3287℃, and the density is 4.54g/cm³. Titanium is a gray transition metal characterized by light weight, high strength, and good corrosion resistance. Because of its stable chemical properties, good resistance to high temperature, low temperature, strong acid and alkali, as well as high strength and low density, it is known as “space metal”. The most common compound of titanium is titanium dioxide (commonly known as titanium dioxide). Other compounds include titanium tetrachloride and titanium trichloride. Titanium is one of the most widely distributed and abundant elements in the Earth’s crust, accounting for 0.16% of the Earth’s crust mass, ranking ninth. The main titanium ores are ilmenite and rutile. The two most prominent advantages of titanium are high specific strength and strong corrosion resistance, which determines that titanium is bound to be widely used in aerospace, weapons and equipment, energy, chemical, metallurgy, construction and transportation and other fields. Abundant reserves provide the resource base for the wide application of titanium.

1(1)The industrial structure is in urgent need of adjustment

After the rapid development since the new century, China’s annual production capacity of titanium sponge has reached 150,000 tons, and the production capacity of titanium ingot has reached 124,000 tons. While the domestic market demand has slowed down, the actual production in 2014 was 67,825 tons and 57,039 tons, the operating rate is insufficient, and most enterprises are in the production position of low-end products, product convergence, fierce competition, Low efficiency. On the other hand, in the aviation, medical and other high-end products research and development and production, we can not meet the development needs of the domestic, aviation titanium alloy materials and medical titanium alloy materials and other high-end titanium products need to be imported. As a result, China’s titanium industry is in structural surplus. The adjustment of titanium industry structure and the problem of overcapacity need to be solved by the state, local and enterprises
